About

Managing a taper for a championship meet requires an intelligent program which mixes endurance, strength and power peaks. The course discusses how to effectively peak and maintain strength and power and enable swimmers to bring their full athletic development to their races. Coaches and swimmers will learn how to structure their strength and power workouts to preserve muscle structure, maintain strength and increase power in the weeks prior to peak competition. They will also learn how to test strength and power before and after the meet to see how well these elements were preserved and formulate individual strategies for the next training phase.
